ECCE

Inquiry based learning through activity takes place at Aristo Public School. Experimental learning is the key to understanding the depth of the subjects. The primary students learn with hands-on activities in all subjects. The middle school does research based projects in English, Language, Mathematics, Science and Social Science.

We realize that the importance of reading, speaking and listening has been forgotten in this electronic age. These skills are necessary not only for language but for the entire subjects that are learnt.

Phonics

Phonics is teaching children the sounds made by individual letter or letter, groups and teaching children how to merge separate sounds together to make it one word. Phonics instruction teaches children how to decode letters into their respective sounds. It is essential for them to read the unfamiliar words by themselves. Effective phonics instruction is important because letter sound knowledge is the foundation needed to build up reading and writing abilities. We follow “Jolly phonics” to educate the phonics sound in kindergarden children enjoy the sounds and actions made for each letter in the classroom. The repeat the sounds and enjoy. They also need to learn the relationship between letters and sounds due to the fact that English relies on letters to represent sounds. We use flash cards, actions related to the sounds to teach phonics to the children to develop their reading skill for the future.

We believe that children take responsibility for their learning when they understand what it means to learn, to be reflective, and to set and personal learning goals.
